MICRONEEDLING CLINIC IN KENT

Microneedling, (also known as Collagen Induction Therapy) is a New Age facial that uses a device to power a cartridge of tiny needles into the surface layers of the skin. Compared to the conventional Derma roller treatment which penetrates the skin only when rolled over its surface, the device we use works at far higher speed and is able to penetrate to skin up to 90,000 times per minute aiding in more visible results.

The needles penetrate your face and neck area to create thousands of controlled micro-traumas. This is when the skin starts its natural healing process and in turn, the production of collagen and elastin is induced, which is exactly what we want. These are both vital and the key in the fight against anti-aging.

The skin’s repair process results in a thicker dermis with the appearance of softer wrinkles achieved and fine lines plumped.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
Micro-needling has many benefits, the main one being the reduction in the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The skin is given a more youthful appearance with fewer signs of ageing. It is also able to resurface the skin, resolving and helping issues such as acne scarring, stretch marks and generally creates a fresher appearance or glow to the skin.

WHAT AREAS OF THE BODY CAN I TREAT?
Micro-Needling can be performed on all parts of the body; Face, neck, décolleté, arms, hands, and abdomen.

HOW IS THE PROCEDURE DONE?
A sterile needle cartridge containing a configuration of tiny micro-needles is attached to the device. The practitioner will then apply anaesthetic cream to your skin on the area in question and select the appropriate needles’ depth based on the skins depth.

Then, in circular motions, the needles will be gently pressed against the skin whilst gently penetrating the top layers of the skin until the entire treatment area has been covered. Sometimes tiny speckles of blood can be a result of the treatment and this is perfectly normal and only aids to a better result.

WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE, DOES IT HURT?
The feeling is similar to a light scratch or slight sunburn. It’s not a relaxing procedure, however, it does not hurt. You may also feel a slight vibration of the device. The needling process takes about 30 minutes, after which a mask or serum is placed over the treated area which is able to penetrate much deeper than it normally would on untouched skin.

HOW LONG DOES THE MICRO-NEEDLING PROCEDURE TAKE?
The procedure itself takes 15-30 minutes depending on the area treated. This timescale isn’t including the pre numbing before the treatment which is between 30-45 minutes.

WHAT IS THE DOWNTIME OF THIS PROCEDURE?
Immediately after the treatment, there will be some redness to the skin and sometimes the area can feel quite warm.
The healing duration depends on the depth the selected needles have worked at and also the area. Some patients heal completely in as little as 24 hours but for some, the redness can last a few days.

WHEN WILL I SEE THE RESULTS?
A noticeable “glow” to the skin can be seen immediately and fine lines are instantly plumped. More noticeable changes to the skin develop over the month and the results will continue to improve for up to 3 months after the treatment as the
collagen production continues.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?
Some patients will only require one singular treatment as and when desired or once a year to achieve fresh-faced result. We would recommend a package of 3 treatments to be used every 4-6 weeks.

If you have deep set lines and wrinkles, stretch marks or acne scarring, it is recommended to receive 6-9 sessions every 6 weeks.
